Quick and good opponents

• When you set up a game with 2 humans (North-South) and 2 computer players (East-West), you can select what bidding system and bidding conventions your opponents are playing, thus enabling you to practice against different types of bidding.
  
• You also know that by playing against the Baron, you have opponents that will play steadily and consistently and will not leave in the middle of the game.
  
• Your opponents will play quickly without any disruptions of the game!

To practice particular types of deals

Because the Baron allows you to select the deal numbers that you play online, you can generate lists of deal numbers before hand (in the Deal Generator or Learn Conventions) that will have the following properties:

• Pre-specified point and suit length distributions
  
• Deals with certain bidding conventions that you want to practice
  
• Have control over the cards that are to be dealt without seeing all 4 hands or knowing the exact distribution of cards

Sometimes you want to look at all 4 hands

• Bridge Baron allows you to do that in Online "Practice Mode" (found if you click "Options", then click "Gameplay Settings", and then click "Advanced")

Independence of server downtime

• Since it is only your computer and the other players' computers involved, you are independent of situations when the central server is down for maintenance
